The Lincoln Park Community was built in 1960 and contained 178 apartments comprising of one, two, three, four, and five-bedroom units. The property had not been substantially renovated and contained many original components. Due to the age, condition of the property, and cost of renovations, it was determined that this property should be redeveloped as opposed to rehabilitated. Lexington Place is the first outcome of this redevelopment project and was designed as the first phase of quality affordable housing in the community.
Lexington Place was completed in April of 2021 and includes 72 townhouse-style apartment units. New homes consist of one, two, and three-bedroom units. The property management office is onsite at 218 Paul Revere Drive along with a community center that features tenant meeting space, office space, a computer lab, and kitchen facilities. The housing units were built to meet the standards of EarthCraft Virginia, the country’s first multifamily-specific green building program. The result is a new community that is healthier and operates more efficiently with energy, water, and other resources.
