In partnership with the City of Portsmouth and South Hampton Roads Habitat for Humanity, Inc., the Authority acquired 18 non-buildable lots and created 10 lots for single-family homes through subdivision and/or variance process. These 10 lots were a part of the Habitat for Humanity Home Builders Blitz 2006 and are providing much-needed affordable housing with cooperation from government, non-profit organizations, citizen volunteers and supportive business community. CRADOCK CONSERVATION AND REDEVELOPMENT PLAN (bounded by Paradise Creek, City limits and encompassing a small area to the west of George Washington Highway)
The Authority created this plan using the findings and recommendations of the Urban Design Associates (UDA) team that researched the Cradock community, held community meetings, and created a plan for the area based on the needs of the whole community.
